European Student's Association AEGEE-Chisinau is a member organization of AEGEE-Europe - "Association des Etats Generaux des Etudiants de l'Europe". AEGEE was founded in Paris in 1985. The general goal of AEGEE is to promote the idea of a unified Europe among European students by the student word. AEGEE counts for about 20.000 members from 42 European countries, unified in 211 local groups named "Antennae". Main AEGEE office is in Brussels. Goals, objectives and activities of AEGEE-Chisinau are orientated to: - Approaching and getting to a better reciprocal cognition of students youth of European countries and Moldova;
- Cooperation and aspiration unification towards a Unified Europe;
- Awareness and understanding of democratic and human values by Moldovan students;
- Affirmation of value identities from Moldova in European world;
- Promoting of a favorable image to our country and interest growth for Moldova among European students;
- Communication intensification, diminishing linguistic barriers and facilitating students mobility between Europe and Moldova;
- Students exchange through different programs supported by AEGEE-Europe;
- Extension of AEGEE Antennae in cities of Moldova.
First AEGEE Antenna appeared in Moldova in 1996. In present the Association has 30 members from different universities in Moldova. During 5 years AEGEE-Chisinau organized 6 European level events: - Summer University "Cultural Differences" in September 1997;
- Case-study trip "EAST-WEST" September 1997 in collaboration with AEGEE-Cluj-Napoca and AEGEE-Iasi;
- European Seminar "Discover Moldova" in July-August 1998;
- Summer University "Moldovan Paradise" 1999;
- Summer University "" 2000;
- Summer Event "Eastern Green Gate" 2001.
Students from Moldova, members AEGEE, took part in workshops, conferences, AGORAs, Summer Universities in various cities of Europe: - Amsterdam - "How Safe Fortress Europe Is?";
- Maastricht - AGORA, "Managing Europe";
- Barcelona - AGORA;
- Rome - "Policy and International Security";
- Utrecht - "LiveTogether";
- Constanta - AGORA;
- Others.
Next 2 years AEGEE-Chisinau is planning to organise several events and activities: - Conference "Moldova - Chances for the European Integration";
- International Seminar "Cultural Identities and Differences";
- Summer Course "Take YOUR Chance to Discover Moldova " 2002;
- Increase the quantitative and qualitative AEGEE-Chisinau number;
- Participation of AEGEE-Chisinau members to the conferences and meetings proposed by other AEGEE-antennae;
- Extension of Antenna's network in Moldova;
- Intensive collaboration and co-operation with other students and youth organizations from Moldova in odder to achieve the goals and objectives proposed above.
AEGEE-Chisinau activates on the basis of sponsorship financing, grants, self-financing and individual initiatives.
